The lasagne came out all wrong.

Which is kind of disturbing because the post just below this on my f-list is all about making lasagne.

Welcome to my world. People look at me askance when I explain that I don't cook. Too many experiences like your sponge and, apparently the lasagne, are the main reason.

That and my darling offsprings' uncanny knack of not liking anything cooked by mum unless it makes a noise like vegetable soup.

Don't know what to say, except sympathies.

It still tasted lovely. Even Jack, who proclaimed after looking at the slop in the bowl "I don't like lanya", ate most of it.

All in all you had a crap day and I hope today's a lot better.

Could you see if the JACK candles are in the kitchen drawers, if you have time?

Oh, foo, I hate when that happens. Judging by comments lower down it sounds like your sauce may have been too wet for GF pasta ...?

But if it tasted nice and got eaten then you're ahead. My dish last night was rejected by the offspring although he did eat the amount we set him to eat, albeit grudgingly. If he had known the phrase "Better to eat bread, standing, than anything better, on your knees" he would have uttered it, he was so disgruntled.

Better luck next time!

'II's first attempt at a sponge was a genoa, possibly one of the most difficult types of cake to make. It ended up as thick and dense as a piece of roofing slate and tasted like a sweet-ish omelette gone stale. Sadly, we didn't know anyone with chickens at the time; we tried it plain, toasted, toasted with jam, the lot, and it was all too triste...

and he stopped trying, poor lamb! Don't you go that road, you have another go, you'll get there.
