Good grief, aren't they just? Especially the first one; if someone jumps into a swamp of alligators, they shouldn't complain when they get bitten...

No idea what that's a euphemism for. I suspect I don't want to know.

I especially liked this bit:
"I do not see how it is possible to spend this much money in an evening".
My immediate thought was 'you don't get out much, do you?'.
Not that anywhere I'd ever be likely to go would cost me that much, but even I know it's very very easy to spend that kind of figure if you do it right.

Some city types I know have previously intimated things like private rooms, more "intimate" dances etc.

(One was trying to convince a bunch of us to go to one with him after the pub shut. He knew my... preferences. The whole conversation was quite odd.)

Last stag do I went on was an afternoon at Haydock losing money on the geegees followed by an evening at Bolton casino, losing money on a variety o things. We should have signed up for the poker, we'd have had a chance there.
About 11ish, some of them insisted on dragging the groom-to-be off to a lap dancing place, but he was back within an hour! Maybe the dancers aren't very good in Bolton, I dunno.

When I clicked on that link, one of the sidebar job ads said:

Man spends $241,000 in a single night in a strip club - 'claims he intended to spend "just" $20,000 of his own money'.

Golly. This chap apparently
proceeded to entertain as many as 15 dancers at a time for an “all-night event”.
They say that as if $241,000 is a reasonable night's wage for 15 people. Where does one sign up to become an employee of this establishment?
