The stakes come in 3s. I'd wanted 4, but decided I didn't want 6 so 3 would have to do. But I'd totally forgotten I'd had to get TWO log rolls so needed 6 stakes anyway!
Doh!
We're going back to the garden centre tomorrow anyway...

Must dig out the mallet and the metre level.

Apparently 1 count her 1 person was booked onto my course. Nobody in the training section had done anything like checking whether I was in or not in the days before, or if the number booked on met the statutory minimum, so they hadn't cancelled it and the woman did turn up. I wasn't there...

On our homeward commute, as we head into Littleborough, high up on the hill dead ahead we see a white house, pretty big though, not just an ordinary house, and yet not looking like a farm. Being white and the only building for some distance, it really stands out. Occasionally we'd wondered what it was.
Eventually, last Friday, I got the OS map out, and still couldn't be sure what it was. So on Sunday, after dumping loads of stuff at the tip, we took the road up from Mytholmroyd to Blackstone Edge, so we could come down to Littleborough from the other side, thinking we might be able to spot this building and finally ascertain its identity.
Well, we drove right past it. It was blindingly obvious, really.
The white house was The White House - a pub just at the top of the road up to Blackstone Edge from Littleborough, where in past times you might have wanted to rest your horses after the climb, or check all the brakes on the coach are OK before going down.
Doh! Should've worked that one out long before, we've known about that pub for yonks - though we've never been in. The Pennine Way appears to go from that pub to the hill opposite our house, so it might be a nice walk in summer.
