Had another Ace, but this time with a 7, and off-suit. Paid the extra $600 over the $200 ante to see the flop and it came 7 high. Oho, top pair with the best possible overcard. But the table shortstack went all-in... I sent an advance action to call up to what he'd put in, and somebody between us raised it another 5000 so the dealerbot folded me. I wasn't sure how I felt about this at first - it would have been 6525, about 22% of my stack, to see the turn and with the chance of eliminating another player (I have 3 kills so far). As it turned out it would have gone badly for me, so my first instinct, codified in the advance action, was correct. The guy who raised maybe would have got more if he'd just called and saved his raising for later, but he had 2 pair which is a devil of a hand sometimes, and the flop did look very like straight-building material: he was probably right to do the "thanks, i'll eat it here" gig.
And in the current hand I was dealt 5 2 off-suit, normally an instant fold but I'm in the big blind now - already in for 800 and a free look at the flop if nobody raises. Somebody did though, so I'm out of there.
No more decisions to make until at least Saturday, I'd guess.
Made it up to 78 in the rankings, briefly. Which was nice.
