I dunno, you take a girl for a pleasant country drive with great views and all she says is "If I'd known we'd be coming back to the very same roundabout after a 20 minute detour..."

Lost? Don't be silly.
The Milnrow slip was full so I went up Windy Hill and down via Shaw.
OK, I may have missed one right turn - it was dark.
The lights of Manc et al are fairly impressive from Saddleworth Moor though

No, it was "let's avoid the jammed sliproad at our exit by going to the next exit". Which sounds like a brilliant idea till you find yourself, after 20 minutes speedy driving over motorways, moors and villages, at the roundabout at the bottom of the same sliproad.

You've missed your way in life, Dave. If you can do 20-minute detours to get to the same roundabout, you'd have been far better off as a London taxi driver. And you wouldn't have had to go sarf of the river, guv.
