Friday evening, finished tidying the house enough that there was room for people to get in it for The Lad's party.
Saturday morning, moved some stuff round so the babies wouldn't be able to destroy anything or hurt themselves; nipped out for some shopping - no disposable bowls in Safeway, typical, they had them last week.
Saturday afternoon, The Lad's party. Dumping a few toys and a ball pool in the living room was quite enough to keep the kids happy, a table of nibbles did for the adults, though we could have done with having more ginger beer. And the Felafel would have been better served hot, but then the chicken would have been cold...
Some of the food was intended as suitable for the kids to nibble/gum, but mostly they weren't very interested. Luckily Jack had had a decent sleep just before so was fine during, as were all the kids, phew. And he went out like a light at bedtime, leaving just a quick sweepup and putaway job that only took 30 minutes or so to get the house back to normal (but tidier than usual - bonus!).
Sunday we went into Manc to meat Besskeloid, AJN, Mr Corlett, and Mr Houlden, and some bonus Yorkshire beer hunters turned up. Sadly for them, the Mark Addy appear to have dropped their policy of keeping decent beer - I asked if they had a mild on, not seeing such on the taps, and was greeted with an expression of ignorance. Oh dear. Unfortunately by this time I was coming down with Jack's latest cold and was not as sociable as I like to think I normally am. Nice to meet Andrew, Jack seemed to like him too, but then I find it hard to imagine anybody not (creep creep).
Then home, a bit of Scrapheap, get the boy to bed, then the tape of the GP, which I just managed to stay awake for. I'm not sure I should be in work today, otoh, it's not that bad and who else is going to back up Ted's old system before nicking the mouse and cables?

Andrew is like catnip to babies. Must be the beard. :)

[livejournal.com profile] smallclanger has the cold too, alas. Which probably means I'll have it by tomorrow. But it's a small inconvenience in the scheme of things. We had a jolly good time and that's the important bit!

YB is very keen on beards, which is apparently unusual.

Of course, it helps that all the beardies we know are Jolly Nice Chaps.

Glad you all enjoyed it. Hope the cold hasn't hit too hard, I can feel it coming on here.

I thought the beard would be a babe magnet. I was nearly right.

Glad to have met lickle Jack at last. Now could you ask him to give me my finger back?

I hope you carried on the tradition of shouting "TEZ!" at every passing male between the ages of 25 and 70…

TEZ!

I shouted "GARY" at a passing male, but I was reasonably sure I was shouting at someone who had that name, and I was right. We were expecting Tez, I expect he was in a pub in Oxford.

I did it three times! Three times! And the second two times were only because it seemed to amuse everyone so much. Harrumph.
