So, VUM & UMIST are no more, and tUoM is now up and running. Only, in my group, the last 5 posts haven't yet been officially filled, and there are 6 applicants. So I may have to interview. Haven't done an interview for over 20 years, not sure I can be arsed: the early retirement offer isn't much but I could just about survive on it, if I went out to libraries etc in the day to save on heating...

Aye but could Jack? Kids get more and more expensive... and in 18 years time, he'll probably want to go to university.

Just don't teach him to read and write, and then he won't be able to go to university. Unless he wants to do a mechanical engineering degree, of course.

You'd be doing all that with YB in tow, remember, since we wouldn't be able to afford the nursery. And there'd be no point in the nursery if you were at home.

Not if I was at home, no, but I might be in that new casino they're building over by Strangeways.
I wonder if Salford still do that degree in gambling?
And if I could get a grant?
