Clever cat

Yesterday evening Smogg did the through-the-catflap-at-high-speed thing, left a muddy skidmark as he tried to corner. I got on with what I was doing, then later went to look for the pawprints I'd need to wipe up. And found he'd gone and sat on a piece of kitchen paper that was fortuitously on the floor, thus dewetting his undersides and mostly demudding himself too.

I think I may leave a piece of kitchen paper on the floor near the catflap as amatter of course from now on.

What you really need is some kind of carpeted airlock on the inside of the catflap to force him to wipe his feet on the way in.

i culd probably make you a small rag rug; that and carpet tape will give im his very own mat. Or you can get a Turtle Rug TM, which is said to de-dirt paws.
