I once recived a 64K DIL ROM in a box that was nearly a metre in each dimension. So it was, to all intents and purposes, and empty box. Mind you, I did know the sender, so I think he was having a laugh.
And the Tannoy speakers I just acquired (see LJ, passim) came in two boxes that were fully 5' hight, and 2' square.
The Dabs habit of posting out memory cards in shoeboxes is another interesting one. Micro SD cards are about half the size of a stamp, but even allowing for the blister pack they come in you still only need a C5 padded envelope.
