Count the horse's legs. If the number is less than or greater than four, don't bet on it. Try to pick one that will run faster than the other horses.

Also, make sure all the horses are genuine horses and that two people in a pantomime outfit haven't slipped through in some hare-brained attempt at a betting scam.

Apart from your agreeing with the MancEveNews on Road To Love and Whitbarrow, so far I have no agreement between it, you, and the Sporting Life.
So long since I read a form card there's not much point trying myself, really.

I may adopt my old dogtrack method of "prettiest handler" when they go round the ring before each race.
