But we've changed our clocks... so it now starts at 22:00 instead of 21:00.
I'd prefer something that started at 20:00, but 21:00 is OK, you pretty much know by 22:30 if there's any point playing 'properly'. And given I get up at 06:00, I have to be in with a real chance if I'm going to stay up much past that. So a 22:00 start is a bit of a pain, and I decided I couldn't take it seriously.
1st hand, small blind, 82off, immediate fold.
2nd hand, button, something like J2off, immediate fold.
3rd hand, T9off, get to see the flop for just the price of the blind, and it's 9 high. OK, it's 987 all diamonds, but I have top pair. And there's just 1 min bet from the BB and one raise to 100 by seat4, so I call. An Ace falls. Checked to me, so unless one of them is slowplaying an Ace, which I've usually found to be a mistake, I may actually be winning. The raiser probably has a flush draw. Or is slowplaying a monster made flush by pretending to be scared of the Ace. Or none of that could be right.
But anyway I wasn't in the mood to play it seriously, so I jammed. Mr Raiser called and did of course have the Ace - rubbish kicker with it, which may be why he checked, but if he didn't like his kicker why did he call?
So I was out, and I got to bed at my usual time, and am consequentlyfresh as a daisyin my usual semi-comatose morning state instead of being almost completely dead.
We still have a couple of seats free for the game at mine on the 15th. Anybody?
