8M

Upgrade happened today.
Wonder if we'll notice any difference?
I have a freeroll to play on ParadisePoker tonight, but that stuff rarely seems affected by linespeed and contention anyway.

I got a cravin' love for blazing speed

Actually, I take back what I said the other day, about not noticing any difference when I went to 2M (from 1M). Things are noticably faster - instantly loaded web pages, for example. What I'm noticing most now is the latency in the limited speed of the uplink. Which, with Metronet, seems to be painfully slow - far less than the modem-measured 250K, never mind the supposed 256K.

On your advice I played one of them 2$ "sit n go" tourneys the otherday.
Freezeout table with 10 sec response time. Absolute frantic madness but good fun. I was doing alright for about 10-15 mins but then I tilted and finished last. Will prolly give it another go soon. What's your handle on Ladbrokes?

I think I'm the only Ladbrokes customer who plays under his own name!
There seem to be two approaches to the cheap S&Gs - very aggressive, to double up quickly, then tighten down (or lose quick and just get into another); or very tight, all the way through. Except when it gets to heads-up you play the person rather than the cards.
I have to accrue points on ParadisePoker to get bonus at the mo, so I'm not on Ladbrokes lately.

Well I don't know what anyone else has said, but I thought your post was that bit quicker to read.

Well, since that post was from a T1 LAN, not from our home broadbean connection, it should have been!
