Looking at usenet recently, it's hardly been worth gillivering for old posts, it's almost as if most of the froups have been razed to the ground like ancient Carthage and then ploughed with salt. What's that line in A. E. Housman's "A Shropshire Lad" about the "land of lost content"? And talking of lost, er, content, there's an, er, "arbitrageur" friend of mine here in Bradford who _might_ just have the MABEL stuff for you to copy.
I ought to see how much of it is available on the web. I could do with the original files though, as my spreadsheet wants to extract the league table data current at the time of each match. If your friend has the goods it would be a lifesaver - I've had no reply to my email to Mabel.
