Found a nice little components shop in Rochdale that did me an AGP board (by Sparkle, based on the nvidia 6200 chipset) for 22 quid. Seems to be working. Passive cooling though, so I might see if I can find any old fan and hang it next to the thing. It has more memory than the old one so I hoped it might speed thigns up a bit, but it doesn't seem to. Maybe needs a re-boot or three, being Windows...

The shop is Advancetec on Tweedale St near the station.

And so it was - Jack didn't ask to go home when the bangs started, didn't even flinch. And almost immediately wanted to get up front for a closer look. Half his classmates were there too, and for several of them it was the first year they'd stuck at it.

Next question - which is cheaper: a small glowstick or a low wattage bulb left on for 11 hours?
