Wogan spent several minutes of prime Radio2 time this morning slagging off Mercedes' Roadside Assistance scheme. I dunno what the BBC bosses will think of that, but I bet some bosses at Mercedes aren't best pleased.

If you missed it:
He discovered a puncture. Got the spare out. Didn't fit - wrong bolts. Nice screw-up by Mercedes there.
Called Mercedes Roadside Assistance. They called back after over an hour to say they couldn't find him. Coz they'd gone to the wrong place. Much later he called them again to say it was still the case that nobody had turned up yet. Having been told he was at the wrong place, the first guy had gone to lunch, or home, or back to the depot, or something.
Somebody finally turned up about 4 hours after the original call. Looked at it and said "It's got the wrong bolts". Well yes, that's what Wogan told you when he called. "I'll have to call a truck to take the car away".
Some time later, truck appears. "They didn't tell me it was that model, I'll need a bigger truck".
11am to 5:30pm to get the car taken away on a truck, for a simple puncture.

You can't blame him for being a bit upset.

Anybody watch it?

They're not as Aspergery as the kids in the Maths Olympiad show a while back, but maths is useful whereas the ability to memorise stupidly large amounts of things isn't, really. And we warmed to the slightly goofy Brit accountant when he said as much. And more when his pre-contest training appeared to consist of getting pissed and doing karaoke with his brother, instead of practising memory tricks in the mountains. I was gutted when he didn't win. I mean, that German already has a nice house and a Porsche, what's he need a mentalist trophy for?

Is there ANYTHING out there that's as simple to use as the good old Ghost80 graphics package was?
