We got lucky with the rain, it was a bit annoying from time to time, but never got past "I'm not too keen on this". We did the 62-6-6T-42-40-25-23 route, except we skipped the 23 coz we heard a traffic announcement that a bit of it we needed was badly backed up following an accident, so we got off the 25 at Reigate and went down the A roads through Crawley to Pease Pottage, our actual destination. With stops, about 6h45m. Coming back too a bit longer as we detoured via Watford to pick up the two Sladek books I got off ebay, then got onto the M40 into London by mistake so had an extra couple of miles there, and after stopping to eat at Cherwell we saw a huge queue so took the A roads to Brackley and Banbury before rejoining the 40. Partway through that detour we realised the queue we'd seen was on the southbound side... But it was a pleasant detour, how do they pronounce Farthinghoe locally? Just about 8 hours for the return, but that included the stop at Watford, you have to chat to your in-laws a bit innit.
Then we watched the tape of the GP, in which the most tension was "is the dish going to lose the satellite again just as they pass the chequered flag?".
And then we decied not to watch DrWho as it was getting late, but stayed up for Kill Bill vol2 anyway...
