Maternity units

This is old news now, but hey.
Some govt chump has said in the last couple of days that they want to cut down on the number of consultant-led maternity units and have more midwife-led ones and home births.
Normally, this would be excellent news, but as Sarah TBW Kennedy pointed out, it's only about 2 months since it was revealed there's a desperate shortage of midwives.
Now, if even SK can spot the flaw in your plan, you're in pretty deep shit, frankly.
