WSM

So, who else was shocked to see Mariusz Pudzianowski lose the WSM to Phil Pfister?
If I'd had a bet on it I'd have lost!
Wonder if there's a book open on 2007 already?
Felix looks like a contender for, say, 2009, but the Poles seem to be churning out some hard men.
I guess Odd Haugen will be retiring - maybe 1 more year? He's 56, so if I train hard for the next 3 years maybe I have a chance myself...

Having had a couple of bulbs go on one of the sets of tree lights (we used a 20plain set plus a 20mixed set), so that they're suspect forever henceforth, we decided to pick up some new lights from the local garden centre last week.
Now, if 40 was OK for the tree we had, which was about 4 foot high, say 3'6" of actual tree, and it could just about have handled a few more lights, then... how big a tree does the new 120 set need?
What's the formula for the surface area of a cone? Should be able to work it out from the fact you can make a cone by wrapping a triangle...
Hmmmm, an isoceles triangle suitable for wrapping has the same area as a rectangle the right height and with a base of half the circumference... Um....

EDIT:
Area needs to go up about 3x, maybe a little less. So height needs to go up by root3, or about 1.7. Of actual tree, so we need about 6 foot of actual tree, or 6'6" with the "stem" (plastic tree, innit). One sold as 6foot might look a bit busy, more than 7'6" will be too sparse and a bit close to the ceiling. Or they may be in metres these days anyway...
