Just had to tell an antivirus scanner to ignore a couple of files, as although it detects a dialler in one of them, and they act as a rootkit, apparently it's some wonderful anti-theft scheme. Unless it's one of the ones that loads from the BIOS, any thief can just format the disk anyway, or dl the data then dump the machine if it was the data they were after, so it's actually pointless - all it does is phone home anytime you go online, telling some database what its IP is. So that if it's nicked, you tell them and they can work out where it went. Great in theory, annoying and deeply flawed in practise.
