So, I have these free tickets for the Renault thang at Donington.
If I go on Saturday there are only 4 races (but qualies and displays and stuff as well)
If I go on Sunday there are 6 races, but I wouldn't get to watch the Italian F1 GP live...
Hmmmmmmm

Latest PokerPlayer mag freeroll only had 221 entries and a $1000 prize pool ($300 to first, top 10 paid)
Ought to have been not too difficult, but when a Q9 in the SB made 2pr, I lost a lot of chips to a straight. I nearly made it back but somebody slowplayed the case Q to a board with QxQQx to perfection so that I thought my A kicker might be good enough.
Ah well...

Got a call about 4. Could I help with an EndNote install. But of course I stopped support for that shortly after the Apps Section was broken up, almost a full year ago - it's all supposed to be done by faculties now, it's what they wanted, we told them it was a mistake, why should we carry on doing stuff we were told, in a not very pleasant way, wasn't required?
But she was _there_, _now_, with disk and lappy. OK. Let's have a look.
First thing: it's a Mac. I don't really know Macs. What I do know is the EndNote install may be subtly different. So she points at the desktop icon for the CD. Do the Mac equiv of a doubleclick, say I. Doesn't autoplay, but it does show me the folders. There's one called MSI.
Aha. Eject disk - sure enough, it's the Windows version. It has WINDOWS written on it in fairly large letters.
Take it back to the shop, I say, tell them you were given this by mistake, you didn't know there were different CDs, they'll swap it.
Well, if she'd had the invoice they would have, but she didn't, so they asked for her library card so they could track the transaction from her ID number.
"My friend bought it for me"
Bye bye, they said.

She may have been telling the truth, I dunno. But it was version9, now over a year old. I suspect that CD has been used for installs on quite a few Windows boxes before today.

Of course, if ISIResearch had a sensible licensing policy, this crap wouldn't happen. If she was telling the truth, she may be down 80 quid.
