I have enough Geomag[1] to make 2 icosahedra[2] drons whatever
I have an assortment of colours
Last night I fiddled about splitting the colours evenly between the two, and then trying to find pleasing arrangements for them.
On one, I found you can have 3 orthogonal opposite-ends-of-the-thing pairs of edges, and did that in 3 colours, filling all the gaps with the last colour (I have more red than I have green, blue, or white) It's OK, but it'd rock if I had 5 colours so could lose half the reds and get everything fully paired up. So I may need to return to Toys'r'us[3] soon.
On the other, I had a triangle of each of green, blue, white meeting at one face, with a similar arrangement at the opposite face, and the wiggly equator left over filled with red. That's quite pleasing.

[2] Other polyhedra are available

[3] Other toyshops are available

Which would be better for saving energy - coating every available surface in your home with photovoltaic cells to recapture light from the bulbs and turn it into electricity again, or installing mirrors everywhere so you get the maximum possible use out of the photons?

OK, so this is the first time I've used macro mode on this camera, couldn't be arsed digging the tripod out or controlling the flash properly, and the focus looks to have gone to the back...
But you (I'm pointing at you, [livejournal.com profile] nomme, it's all your fault) were daft enough to ask, so here they are.

The one where there are triangles of colour:

Another try at it:

The one where the bars are in 3 orthogonal opposing pairs:

Slightly different angle, focus slipped right to the back, oh dear:

Jack... over a meg each, these, sorry
