L got a small pump out to try to pump up the paddling pool - didn't fit, so used the car footpump, but: Jack knew his Spiderman "readybed", which we got for travelling, uses a pump like it and got very excited. So we decided to get it out. After all, we need to check it works before we shoot off. And of course then he wanted to sleep in it: fine.

At about 10:40 I went up and, as always, opened the door to Jack's room to check on him.

The bed was flipped over.

AAAAAAGGGHHHHHHH

It had stopped when it hit his proper bed, so it was over but not really on top of him. Even if it had been it's not heavy or floppy enough to cause a problem - probably... But he might have ended up face down into the carpet and unable to move, maybe. Just maybe - not really terribly likely, but all the same...

I turned it back and he was, of course, fine, and didn't even wake until I moved him back onto the mattress section.

So, if you get one of these "readybed" things - they need something alongside so that the child can't use the slack in the top cover to get off the mattress section, thus causing the mattress to flip. And consider the positioning carefully. I may have to write to the manufacturers.
