The whole house stank of creosote substitute - the guy doing the final touches to our garden painted the gate in our garage (which is under the rest of the house), and left it there to dry.
Damn that Wet Yorkshire weather!
"respiratory irritant" but not actual toxic fumes, according to the can. Opened one or two windows and doors now and then, but it was way too cold to leave them open for long.

Last thing, looked out the window as I was checking the rads were down, noticed next door's car had Stuff on the bonnet. L nipped round to tell them in case they didn't know, as she hadn't spotted it earlier in the evening. But apparently it had been there earlier, and they did know. Brake fluid and paintwork don't play well together. This was part of the saga of the partner who left him to live with another woman, and the court case where he was found not guilty of knocking her about. We used to hear rows, but never saw any signs of violence. We tend to think his story is closer to the truth than hers.

In other news, don't assume that code attached to a ControlBox is effectively inside a With for the controlbox. "Value" is just some variable, not the ControlBox property. Er... probably.
