We turned south from the Halifax road this morning, and ahead of us was the biggest blackest cloud you ever did see. As we neared Manc it seemed to be more to the east, and heading east, so I ceased worrying about it. And then a bit closer to Manc there was a big blackness in the sky again, and this eventually turned out to be smoke from a fire somewhere in the Cheetham Hill or Strangeways area. Must have been big. And the two clouds merged in my mind. Good job I'm not about to go to sleep, I'd have nightmares. It was HUGE and VERY VERY BLACK. In fact I think I'll check the local news websites to see if I can find out what that fire was - probably just some builder's bonny, but you never know (unless you ask)
