Well, another few hands have gone by, mostly instant folds, or folds on the flop.
Just won one, though. It went like this:

Antes are $300 now, blinds are $500 and $1000.
Dealt A/5, I call the big blind: an ace can be enough, sometimes, and A/5 gave me a very lucky straight a few hands back.
Somebody raises $1600, and I call reluctantly: didn't really want to pay that much to see the flop, but hey.
Three of us are in at the flop, which falls 9/5/2
I have middle pair with an ace as sidecard. The straight is so remote as to be unthinkable. No flush likely anywhere with the rainbow flop.
1st guy checks.
After a bit of thought, I bet $1500. If I get raised, I'm gone, but it's a flop that's easy for everybody to miss - with the raise they should both be playing high cards of some sort - so I may in fact be winning, and I want to find out.
They both fold.
Huzzah: $8900 net profit, I'm back up to $31675, 130th of 318 remaining players.

Willy Eckerslyke of uk.misc is around 140th or something.
Linz is down near the bottom, hanging on.
Keith from misc went out on Feb1st, with K/T - must ask him what happened.

Sigh.
Dealt Q/T
Cost me $2000 to see the flop, two other players came along.
K/J/T
Bottom pair and a straight draw.
One of the other guys bet $6000.
Had to fold.
Shame.

Folded the next lot as soon as I saw them.

Big blind next hand, so I'll be in for $2000 whatever I get dealt.
Starting to get tough now!
