Well, I couldn't be arsed to find and read the form for the National, so it's the Significant Name system this year. And instead of each-way bets at the bookies, BetFair offer a place-only market - though their 5% cut is a rip-off. So, it's a fiver each on Davids Lad (just better than 4-1 to place) and Artic Jack (9-1 to place). Davids Lad is relatively shortly priced so presumably it has some chance; Artic Jack has at least managed the distance before.
And despite last time's fiasco, a bit on Alonso to make the podium in Bahrain.
As soon as we get Jack a highchair (phoning Mothercare AGAIN later this morning), I shall take a photo of him with some cards and poker chips and stick it on t'web.

Windows patches and anitvirus installed

VirusScan up to latest DATs and everything marked critical from Windows Update...
Now for the Netware client and tuning up the display
Then I'll see if the soundcard drivers got installed right - I have Katie Melua here - well, just the CD.

Well, it doesn't seem to have the correct display driver, I'm on generic VGA. So some messing about with the Dell drivers disk is next. Still, I'm now using it again. OfficeXP to go on this afternoon, I suppose. And I'll have to try to recall where to download Gravity from. And what my licence string for ZoneAlarmPro was.

Display driver and audio driver re-installed, Office2002 installed, now I just need to set up a proper non-admin username for the default login and set up some Novell drive mappings and it's rebuilt as far as it can be without all the apps software.
The engineers tell me they have no suitable donor disk to try a board swap, so I guess I've lost the stuff that wasn't backed up. Ah well.
